Lucia, mom of 10 children and in charge of cleaning at Brazos Abiertos
I arrived at Brazos Abiertos in 2012, cause of my little daughter. I needed a place for her to study and found it there. From that time on, my life changed. Mi life and that of my children was very sad, caused by all the troubles we had to face in our home. One day, my daughter’s teacher invited me to have conversation. I found a place where I could share my sorrows and receive counseling. They shared with me about the hope there is and that God had a plan with my life. I knew God, but more in a religious way. That started changing into having a relationship with Him. “How my life has changed? Well, in the way I’m acting and in the way I see my life. If there’s a problem, it doesn’t overwhelm me anymore, cause I know God is there to help me out and that He’s in control. I’m thankful for Brazos Abiertos; for the job they gave me. For me it’s a way of serving God: doing the cleaning very well and with love. Besides that I’m thankful for the help my children receive. One of them recently finished his career and found a job, thanks to the sponsors they found him.”
