After the great success of last year’s Sports Olympiad, in which the children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and participated with great enthusiasm, a question arose: why not also organize a Mathematics game? Our goal was to motivate students to review and deepen their understanding of the material they had learned, especially in this subject, which is often more challenging.
All students from first to sixth grade participated in this pilot project. After an elimination round, the eight best students from each grade qualified for the final. There, the top three places were determined, and the winners were awarded prizes in a ceremony held at the school. It was a very emotional moment for the students and their families.
The winners from first to sixth grade received reasoning books and math games. They were also taken on a visit to the Natural History Museum of Lima, followed by lunch. During the visit, the children learned many things about history and had an unforgettable experience in the museum, where they were able to touch a small, live boa constrictor.
The winners from first through third grade were taken out to enjoy a delicious ice cream. The Math game was a great success for our school. The parents and children were so excited that they even reviewed the topics together.
