DTS

The first Discipleship Training School in the base of Youth With A Mission Lima, Brazos Abiertos has started. We are so thankful for the amazing staff and the 5 students from 5 different countries (USA, Germany, Chile, Venezuela and Peru). It is beautiful to see how God is working in their lives and that they have set aside 5 months to get to know God better. We have different teachers from different countries who will come and teach the students for a week. Please pray for the students and staff to continue to grow in their relationship with God.

New construction phase 4

We are grateful that we can continue to build step by step in this phase and believe that God will continue to provide for the finances. Thank you for all the donations in recent times. The construction has been delayed somewhat because the changed plans were not ready in time, but that will be fine. The roof on the 6 rooms on the 2nd floor is done. We are now working on the toilets, the painting and the cabling.
The fundraising is still ongoing and another 63,000 dollars are needed to complete this phase 4. Will you pray and help?
You can transfer a donation to the account of Modernday, stating new construction phase 4.
The donations are tax deductible, thank you very much.

Volunteer Ronald

After I saw Brazos Abiertos on the internet and read about the impact the school has in the slum, I contacted them. Not much later I was allowed to come and help with some maintenance of the building.

When I arrived it was quite quiet, because it was the children’s holiday. After a tour of the building, the neighborhood and the new construction project I immediately felt at home. What struck me was the peace and love that prevailed. In the weeks that followed I also noticed how pleasant the atmosphere was and how faith was central, I really liked this.

After having done a number of painting projects it was time to prepare the building for the DTS (Discipleship Training School). It is the first time that the DTS is held at this location, so there was a lot to do. It is fantastic to see that God is working and that now, in addition to the school and the church, people can be trained to go out as missionaries.

Primary school graduation 2024

We are very excited and grateful to God for our second Primary graduation in 2024. We have been privileged witnesses of the growth, maturity, learning and spiritual development of these beautiful children. We are saddened to have to say goodbye to them, but we are excited to know that God has great plans for them.
During these years we have strived to plant the seeds of faith, hope and love in their hearts, with the full conviction that God will give growth.
Many successes to our ALESUS Class of 2024!

DTS Heidebeek NL

What an amazing 2 weeks we had with the DTS team from the Netherlands. We visited a number of churches and schools to speak, testify, do theater and evangelize on the streets. And to promote the work of Youth with a Mission and the DTS. In addition, we shared the gospel in a creative way with the children, teenagers and young adults. We saw God at work through the team and people gave their hearts to Jesus and we prayed for different people. Do you also want to do a DTS send us a message, we start on February 2, 2025.

Closing year of the school

The closing of the school year was another big party. The children of the school had all prepared a song, dance or a play. It was nice to celebrate Christmas together in this way and say goodbye to this school year. We are grateful to God for all the work we were allowed to do to show the love of Jesus to the children and parents and to restore the families with the principles of the Bible. Afterwards there was Christmas bread and chocolate milk for everyone.

Olympics

The students of the school experienced moments of joy and emotions during the school olympics games, Brazos Abiertos 2024. At the inauguration they started with a parade where each classroom represented a country. Among them were Colombia, South Korea, India, Israel, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Holland and Peru.

During these days, individual and team competitions were held, in both female and male categories. In athletics, individual 50-meter sprint race, relay races, marathon, ball throwing and also team sports soccer and handball. For these games, the participation of 186 children from preschool and primary school was recorded, the children were prepared for several months by the Mexican missionary and physical education teacher, Emmanuel Ozuna López.

We witnessed blessed families having fun, cheering on their children and even crying with emotion. In these Olympics we had the inclusion of an autistic child and a child with motor paralysis who participated in their wheelchair. They were the protagonists of our Olympics and of life, who overcame fear and managed to be heroes for all of us.

We ended with the presentation of medals to the winners of each sporting discipline and each category, but we also valued the participation of all the children so in the end they were all awarded with a special medal.

The motto of the Olympics is based on 1 Corinthians 10:31 “Whether you run or enjoy sports, “Do all for the glory of God”

The party of colors

It was a very beautiful time where you could see the hand of God touching the hearts of the children who bowed down and opened their hearts to the only King of Kings, Lord of Lords. Moments of joy and fun were shared and above all, the word of God was sown in their hearts. Thanking God for the number of children who received Jesus in their hearts. All glory to our Heavenly Father. Thanks also to the Happy Planet team.

Promotion of the 5 year olds

The promotion of the 5 year olds was great again. Every year it is a party for the little ones to leave the pre-school and go to primary school. Family is invited, there is good food and many photos are taken. Grateful that we can give these children Christian education.
